Gravii addresses a key issue: 60% of gym-goers quit in three months. Unlike competitors with cluttered UIs, Strada focuses on a lightweight, habit-driven approach—emphasizing ease, excitement, and progress. This MVP was delivered in three months, turning feature sketches into a test-ready product.

Goal

  • Replace paper planners with digital fitness structure
  • Boost user retention and habit formation
  • Design an intuitive app that encourages action, not guilt
  • Deliver a lean, testable MVP within 3 months

Methods & Impact

We followed a Lean UX approach to rapidly validate concepts and align with user behavior. Leveraging the Double Diamond and HEART frameworks, we blended strategic research with lightweight prototyping to drive focused outcomes.

Competitive Audit

Reviewed 3 apps, leading to a 50% reduction in interface complexity.

Design Consideration

Prioritize ease of entry and emotional uplift over intensity or gamification.

Behavioral Framework

Model Used

Hook Model — Trigger, Action, Reward, Investment.

Applied Features

  • Trigger: Geolocation-based class reminders
  • Action: 1-tap workout start
  • Reward: Vibration + streak tracker
  • Investment: Custom plan creation

Design Consideration

Build flow around fast actions, subtle rewards, and habit-forming loops.

Rapid Iterations

Motivation

Removed social features to focus on core value.

Behaviour

Completes weekly transactions, checks wallet balances, and uses mobile biometric login.

Pain Points

Gets frustrated by unclear flows and delayed transfer confirmations.

Design Consideration

Needs a 3-step transaction process, live status updates, and a clear wallet view.

Conclusion

Designing Gravii reinforced the impact of simple, behavior-driven UX in building lasting habits. By focusing on clarity, quick wins, and emotional rewards, I created an MVP that not only delivered results but also resonated with real users. Moving forward, I plan to enhance engagement through animated micro-rewards and AI-powered personalization.
